Rolling out now is the new Assignments view in Project for the web:
This view provides you an editable time phased view of the assignments:
You can Group by Resource or by Task:
You also pick a date to scroll to using the Go to date selector. I’m sure as this rolls out there will be other features such as scrolling previous and next weeks.
From this view you can directly update the resource assignments, for example I can update the 8 hours effort on 17/5/2022:
